Marine Technical Engineer (Vessel Operation / Maintenance)

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of marine vessels, machinery, and equipment.
• Provide technical expertise for construction, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance to ensure the reliability and functionality of vessels and related systems.
• Manage daily vessel operations, including movements, documentation, risk management, and compliance with port state regulations.
• Handle ship and cargo documentation, ensuring customs compliance for international shipments, and process procurement requests for vessel maintenance and repairs.
• Track and review approved purchase requisitions for vessel-related repairs and maintenance, and assist with claims such as demurrage, cargo shortages, and commercial issues.
• Submit monthly statistical reports on operating rates, demurrage, and voyage data, while improving ship efficiency and reducing operational risks.
• Install, troubleshoot, and manage marine electrical systems, and maintain and repair marine engines, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and other vessel systems.
• Manage and document planned maintenance system (PMS) activities, including repairs, and maintain proper records within the marine department.
• Engage and deploy sea staff for vessel assignments.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine & Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with vessel operations, maintenance, or technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of international maritime regulations and environmental standards.
• Have marine electrical system knowledge and able to read electrical layout drawing.
