Provide support to the BME Head in the medical equipment planning, technology evaluation, preparation of specifications for ITQ/RFP, ITQ/RFP evaluation and commissioning of new medical equipment. This includes breakdown/preventive maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment.
Responsibilities
As the second line support to BME Head, lead BME team for the various programs in commissioning, breakdown and preventive maintenance, inventory updating, and de-commissioning of medical equipment.
Work with relevant user groups to prepare medical equipment specifications for RFQ/RFP; evaluate RFQ/RFP submissions and provide recommendations based on technical compliance.
Review and make improvements to various programmes to ensure minimal disruption to operations and ensure medical equipment is safe for use at all times.
Plan, conduct, and coordinate training in the operation and maintenance of medical equipment for BME team and relevant user groups.
Ensure quality of works conform to standards and practices that the hospital subscribes to, including other quality initiatives driven by the hospital and department.
Support and assist BME Head in coordinating services for medical equipment projects together with DevSec, Consultants, vendors, contractors, and appropriate authorities.
Work with user departments and equipment suppliers for equipment installation and project management.
General
As the second line support to BME Head in achieving the service goals, targets, and department Key Performance Indicators.
Updating and monitoring of performance indicators under his/her responsibility.
Attend and participate in relevant coordination and hospital development projects meetings.
Perform all other tasks and duties as directed by Head, BME.
Job Requirements
Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant industry experience with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity will also be considered.
Familiarity with Hospital BME functions and processes, Microsoft Office, energetic and forward-looking.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Good team player with supervisory skills, able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches.
Required to be activated back on site to support pandemic situation and other project-related incident management and investigation as necessary.
