Support Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Research and Education, and Director, Research on managing the research programmes and initiatives of the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS), National Dental Research Institute Singapore (NDRIS) and the Oral Health Academic Clinical Program (ORH ACP).
Report to the Assistant Director, Research and support on implementing research initiatives, strategies and plans
1. Process Improvement
Review and revamp grant management and research administration processes to reduce errors and expedite approval submission
Professionalize the research support and research operation for faster turnaround time and better quality of services to researchers and clinician researchers
Streamline internal processes especially procurement and contractual matters to shorten the time for projects to commence and complete
2. Grants Management
Manage and vet the NMRC Centre Grant, ORH ACP grants, and research grants awarded to NDCS for timely and accurate utilization of funds, progress report and audits
Prepare and develop presentation material for workplan and budget, progress reports and annual reports for NMRC Centre Grant, ORH ACP grants, and research grants awarded to NDCS and for any other related research activities
3. Research Administration
Manage the Research Dashboard on key performance indicators on publication and grant information from clinicians and principal investigators, and public sources for tracking and reporting
Formulate, maintain and implement research-related policies and Standard Operating Procedures
4. Research Support
Manage the planning and organisation of research events like training workshops and lunch talks, Strategic Retreats and Scientific Advisory Committee meetings, visits by overseas research visiting expert and academic study trip
Work with SingHealth 's Legal department and support the Principal Investigators in due diligence, preparing and drafting and obtaining approvals for Non-Disclosure Agreement, Service Agreements, Project Agreement, and Research Collaboration Agreements
5. Research Operation
Manage office space and laboratory space utilization and allocation, and new hires are issued with IT resources, accounts and access rights for research related activities
Work with Office of Biosafety to manage the lab facilities, leasing, inspection, audit, and follow-up on biosafety findings
Work with Corp Comms to manage and prepare the research publicity, Oral Health Newsbites, and Research website to feature up-to-date, accurate and impactful research cases
6. Strategy Planning and Commercialisation
Works with the team to develop Centre-initiated programme/grant proposals and contribute to the development of strategic pathways in support of the national research and healthcare agenda and he preparation of cases for support to attract philanthropic funding
Engage academic and industry partners to explore funding, translational and commercial opportunities to bring our inventions to the market
Handle invention disclosures, patents and other intellectual property rights issues
Requirements:
At least Masters in Life Science or other related field with minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in Healthcare and/or Research setting
Experience with contract management, grant administration, budget preparation and KPIs reporting to agencies
At least 4 years of supervisory experience to manage a team of executives
Meticulous and responsive with excellent communication and writing skills
Excellent presentation skills and pitching to funders
Prior experience with commercialisation processes
Highly motivated with ability to work under pressure
