Resident Doctor - Surgical Care

A well-known hospital is looking for resident doctors to be in charge of the surgical care for patients involving the liver, pancreas, and biliary system. This includes elective and emergency settings, such as general surgery calls and liver transplant calls, including day surgery.

You will be required to:

• Perform common and complex surgery in the field of liver, pancreatic, and biliary diseases, including liver transplantation (both deceased donor liver transplant and living donor liver transplantation) for adult patients. The candidate may also be required to be involved in pediatric liver transplantation.
• Perform general surgery, hepatobiliary & pancreatic surgery with an open approach as well as a minimally invasive approach (either laparoscopic, robotic, or both).
• Run outpatient and inpatient services for ward patients, as well as emergency acute care and endoscopy service (where relevant).
• Teach undergraduate students as well as post-graduate medical trainees (and also fellowship training).
• Participate in organizational activities, namely clinical, research, education, and administrative tasks.

• Minimum basic degree from a recognized medical school or postgraduate qualifications which are registrable with the SMC.
• Completed training and postgraduate qualifications recognized by the SAB.
• Active in clinical practice.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in the area of specialty and expertise in managing complex medical problems and complications.
• Able to work independently, confident, take initiative, and be a good team player.
