Job description

EHS Engineer
Industry: Semiconductor

  • 5 days, 9am-6pm
  • Salary: $3500- $4000
  • Location: Islandwide, based on assignment

Job Scope:

  • Work closely with site operations and other EHS staff to drive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement.
  • Perform a wide range of health and safety compliance duties including equipment and facility permitting, compliance auditing, management of change and chemical authorization approvals, record keeping and reporting, liaison with the local authorities.
  • Ensure EHS programs and management systems are in place in alignment with Corporate EHS requirements to minimize risks to employees and the environment.
  • Conduct EHS training for employees.
  • Perform chemical reviews for handling, storage and disposal, test stand reviews, release for operation, and lab-specific activities; including design reviews, MOC reviews, and surveys.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents, analyze pertinent data, and participate in compliance evaluations of products, programs, and facilities per company and governmental requirements. Specify corrective actions and use investigation methods such as 8D, FMEA, and PHA.
  • Review and report EHS progress and performance for assigned site/function based on established EHS metrics to site management.
  • Provide onsite support and perform risk assessments for office/lab expansion projects.
  • Track and trend EHS-related legislation and take appropriate action to comply with requirements. Communicate EHS issues to all necessary management and employees.
  • Remain knowledgeable of progress made in EHS best practices (ISO 45001 and 14001) and incorporate these within Applied.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders regarding EHS issues and work with cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate Emergency Response Team and provide onsite availability to direct ERT members as needed.
  • Conduct fire and safety site inspections.

Requirements:

  • Relevant EHS experience in the semiconductor industry.
