Job description

The role involves overseeing all aspects of financial accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance. This includes ensuring timely preparation and submission of management reports and providing management with information and reports as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily accounting and finance operations.
  2. Supervise the accounting team to ensure that day-to-day financial transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently. This includes being subject matter in general ledger to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
  3. Prepare month-end closing reports and schedules promptly. Ensure that all operational and financial data for the month is collected, reviewed, and reported in a timely manner. This involves preparing management costing, financial statements with financial commentaries, meeting slides and other financial reports.
  4. Analyze monthly transactions. Review and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas of concern. Provide insights and recommendations based on this analysis to support decision-making.
  5. Identify and drive continuous improvement of finance processes. Continuously assess and refine financial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement changes that streamline operations and reduce costs.
  6. Forecasting/projection and annual budgeting. Work together with various departments to develop short-term and long-range financial planning.
  7. Taxation. Co-ordinate and involve in the preparation of tax schedules and corporate tax computation.
  8. External audit, internal audit, and internal control. Co-ordinate and participate in both yearly external audit and periodic internal audit. Interface with other departments to ensure effective internal control throughout the organization.
  9. Perform ad hoc duties/projects as needed. Be prepared to take on additional tasks or special projects as assigned by management. These could range from supporting new business initiatives, update of finance policies, etc.

Requirements:

  • CPA (Certified Practicing Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountants) certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in a senior role.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent management and leadership abilities.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
