Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and recording for all incoming QC samples. To ensure all incoming samples analysis are done according to request and criteria before sending for disposal.
2. Operates laboratory equipment and instruments to perform QC/R&D tests according to SOP for determining the chemical or physical characteristics as quality control, process control and/or product development.
3. Be able to independently perform internal calibration for all QC instruments. To check and ensure the calibration validity for all QC instruments.
4. Be able to conduct the QC method development and method validation with guidance by senior chemist.
5. Record analytical results compliance to standard protocol and QA requirement. Ensure the traceability of all results.
6. Communicate results to the relevant operations/PM personnel. Be responsible for QC/R&D analysis results.
7. Preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments. Be able to be the owner of some QC devices, consumables and analytical chemicals.
8. Proactively updating existing work instructions, analytical instructions and laboratory record as required or when necessary.
9. Be able to participate in troubleshooting on non-conformance of analysis data.
10. Maintain 5S and perform housekeeping in laboratory ensuring all workstations are clean at all times.
11. To follow chemical waste segregation protocols and adhere to proper waste disposal.
12. Update and maintain chemicals and laboratory supply inventory records accurately and promptly.
13. Adhere to workplace safety requirement and regulations at all times.
14. Performs any other tasks as assigned by superior.
Requirements:
1. Minimum Diploma/NITEC in Chemistry or related field.
2. Experience in handling lab equipment such as GC FID/TCD, HPLC, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, Automatic Titrators, UV Spectrometer, Density meter, Refractometer, viscometer, tensiometer, etc would be an advantage.
3. Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Willing to work in Tuas area and work OT when required.
