Research Engineer I / Research Engineer II

The Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI) is the first institute in Singapore to be entirely dedicated to Air Traffic Management research. As a part of its agenda for innovation, it is seeking to recruit a Research Engineer to work on the AI-Assisted ATFM project, to deliver an operationally ready prototype of an AI enabled ATFM system.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions.
2. Develop new features and infrastructure translating research idea or prototype into application/technology ready for deployment, while maintaining high standards for code quality and application design.
3. Understand air traffic domain knowledge and operations, particularly air traffic flow management concepts and operations.
4. Interact with both researchers and stakeholders to gather requirements and propose appropriate technical architecture and implementation plan for the final product.
5. Learn/adopt new technologies (if required) for the project.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor / Master of Engineering in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Experience in software development, participating in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
3. Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.
4. Work primarily in Java, React, and JavaScript, DBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), Python, C++.
5. Experience in Blockchain Technology development is a plus.
6. Industrial or operational prior experience in air traffic services is a plus.
