Full Stack Developer | 2 Years Contract | Up to $5.6k | East

Overview

This is a 2-year contract position where the accepted candidate will work on digitalising airport operations systems alongside Technology and Innovation teams. The candidate will receive on-job training of aviation specific business processes from airport professionals that will support his/her role in application development.

Job Summary

We are looking for a competent full-stack web application developer passionate about building meaningful systems to transform complex airport operational systems. The candidate will work closely with our appointed vendor in building the web application frontend as well as supporting backend integration and logic components of a system that aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of airport operations. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to enhance his/her development portfolio by working on this challenging yet rewarding project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field of study. Candidates with a strong Diploma in a similar field of studies may also apply.
• 2-4 years of experience in developing frontend/backend web applications.
• Proficiency in a majority of the following programming languages/tools: Svelte Kit, ShadCN, NodeJS, NestJS, RESTFul, TypeScript/JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Message Queue technologies.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and branching strategies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with industry programming best practices, software development lifecycle and agile/scrum methodology.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with good attention to detail for effective debugging and troubleshooting of complex issues.
• Bonus areas:
  • Passion and interest in the aviation industry and airport operations.
  • Experience in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines to automate build, test and deployment processes, familiarity with the following stack: Gitlab, Sonatype Nexus Repo, SonarQube, ZAP, Playwright, JIRA.
  • Experience/interest in learning how to deploy applications on an AWS environment.
  • Knowledge of security testing/scanning methodologies including Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT).
  • Experience/interest in writing automated unit and integration test scripts to ensure code reliability and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the appointed vendor and project team to understand the requirements of the Airport Operations system.
• Sit-in and be engaged in design thinking workshops conducted by business analysts and UI/UX designers to identify business needs that built functionality aims to solve.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to convert Figma designs into working screens and functionalities, ensuring seamless integration of design elements.
• Write secure code following best practices and security guidelines.
• Integrate with external systems for data exchange and participate in code review sessions with other programmers in the team.
• Present and communicate work done and code logic at daily stand-up meetings and agile sprint milestones.
• Collect and incorporate feedback for continuous iterative improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or errors of expected functionality.
