Junior Trader (Freshers Welcome)

Broad Responsibilities

1. Developing the market for Physical commodities (Coal/Sulphur/Fertilizer/Agri GNO) through developing a new customer base.
2. Sourcing new suppliers at the best cost possible and increasing the supplier base.
3. Staying updated on geopolitical, economic, and industry-specific events that could affect commodity markets.
4. Monitoring and analyzing commodity market trends and pricing movements.
5. Monitoring trading positions and maintaining up-to-date records of trades.
6. Preparing daily and weekly reports on trading results and market insights.
7. Providing updates on current positions to senior traders.
8. Working closely with senior traders and other team members to learn and understand the nuances of commodity trading.
9. Building and maintaining relationships with buyers and suppliers.
10. Coordinating with internal team members to ensure timely execution of trades.
11. Building and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams like Shipping, Risk & Compliance, and Finance.
12. Evaluating contracts in terms of risks involved and executing trade contracts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. MBA in Marketing/Trading or Bachelor’s degree.
2. 0-2 years of experience (Freshers are welcome to apply).
3. Knowledge of the commodities trading business.
4. Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
5. Good analytical skills and ability to interpret market intelligence data for effective decision-making.
6. Ability to liaise effectively with external agencies.
7. Good networking skills.
8. Experience in dealing with/managing cross-functional teams.
