Deputy Director (Airport Development and Planning)

[What the role is]
As the Deputy Director in the Airport Development and Planning Division, you will be involved in and have oversight of the planning and design of Changi Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5) and related infrastructure in Changi East. You will work closely with the airport operator, government agencies, key stakeholders, and consultants to review T5’s design proposals, with a focus on aspects such as functionality, resilience, future-proofing, and sustainability. As part of the T5 design review process, you will be expected to contribute towards ensuring optimum design and cost-effectiveness for T5, and be involved in the funding approvals for T5 and Changi East works.

[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for strategic long-term airport land use and master planning studies and will similarly work with the airport operator, government agencies, and key stakeholders to review airport land use planning and design proposals. This would include visioning and/or planning of key airport zones such as the Changi East Urban District and Changi East Industrial Zone to enable holistic bolstering of the airhub and synergy with the surrounding Changi Region. You will also be responsible for reviewing and implementing the regulatory framework for Airport Master Planning, whilst working with stakeholders to drive the implementation of airport-related sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives as well as climate change adaptation measures.

[What we are looking for]

1. At least 15-20 years of relevant working experience and training in Planning/Architecture/Engineering or relevant areas
2. Prior airport/airfield related experience and/or planning & design of infrastructure projects will be advantageous
3. Experience in government processes and working with agencies for planning and delivery of infrastructure projects will be advantageous
4. Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills
5. Strong communication skills
6. Strong leadership and supervisory track records
