Job description

CPS (Commercial Products Supply) is a key part of the Advantaged Supply Chain of the Technical Function of The Coca-Cola Company. CPS manufactures concentrates and beverage bases for sale to bottling partners all over the world. This global organization manages a network of 18 manufacturing plants in 17 different countries.

The CPS Global Packaging Director leads the packaging strategy for CPS to ensure that our packaging meets high food safety and quality standards and regulations, drives operational efficiency and productivity, and evolves leveraging new technologies to meet our World Without Waste commitments as a key part of CPS's sustainability ambition.

Strategic Direction

Set the strategic direction for packaging for CPS; develop a broad “fit for use” program focused on sustainability, quality, operational efficiencies, and cost reduction incorporating:

  • Regulatory compliance
  • Internal and external customer requirements
  • Standardized & optimized package range and specifications
  • Specific value creation projects through PMO, enable packaging PI
  • Risk Management & Business Continuity Plan implementation
  • Governance & Metrics for process and quality improvement

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Procurement Category Manager(s) to ensure Spend & Supplier Management is aligned to the overall strategy. Through a matrix organization, indirectly work with technical subject matter experts (including customers, quality, technical, design, engineering, logistics, finance, suppliers) to develop and implement the packaging programs.
  • Ensure alignment across CPS, including CPSLT, QSE, Engineering & Quality Teams for prioritization of packaging programs.

Implementation & Program Management

  • Program Management – from Ideation through Implementation/Control that includes cross-functional collaboration (end to end – supplier to customer for Global Initiatives including sustainability projects to reduce, reuse, and recycle packaging materials).
  • Gain appropriate stakeholder alignment and approval through network meetings and annual business plan cycles. Identify resources, capability, and funding requirements and develop prioritized implementation plans to ensure delivery of programs and projects to meet metrics & targets.

Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Build capability through creating global standard processes and metrics across the packaging community, aligned to KORE and supporting Customer, Supplier and CPS plant operations.
  • Update KORE to ensure regulatory and sustainability objectives are met.
  • Facilitate replication of best practices and adoption of standard through a defined communication program.
  • Ensure governance to above standards.
  • Meet defined sustainability targets/metrics.

Risk Management

  • Pro-actively work with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risk through process definition and various risk reduction methodologies.
  • Manage significant GLOBAL supply (IMCR) issues.
  • Eliminate single source situation through standardization and development of the Supplier base and alternative BCP plans.
