Assisi Hospice is seeking a Bereavement Care Counsellor to join our team. This role will provide compassionate counselling and support to individuals and families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. As a Bereavement Care Counsellor, you will play a vital role in helping our clients through their healing journey.
What you'll be doing
Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to bereaved individuals and families.
Conduct thorough assessments to understand the grief experience and develop personalised care plans.
Facilitate support groups and workshops to help clients process their emotions and find healthy coping mechanisms.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to bereavement support.
Maintain detailed client records and documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
Participate in team meetings, training and development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills.
Lead in a multi-disciplinary team to organise and run the interfaith memorial services for our deceased patients.
What we're looking for
Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and/or Social Work, or Equivalent from an accredited University.
Preferably registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
At least 3 years of experience providing bereavement, grief or end-of-life counselling.
Strong active listening and communication skills to effectively support individuals in distress.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Familiar with ethical guidelines and best practices in the counselling profession.
