Bereavement Care Counsellor

Assisi Hospice is seeking a Bereavement Care Counsellor to join our team. This role will provide compassionate counselling and support to individuals and families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. As a Bereavement Care Counsellor, you will play a vital role in helping our clients through their healing journey.

What you'll be doing

• Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to bereaved individuals and families.
• Conduct thorough assessments to understand the grief experience and develop personalised care plans.
• Facilitate support groups and workshops to help clients process their emotions and find healthy coping mechanisms.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to bereavement support.
• Maintain detailed client records and documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
• Participate in team meetings, training and development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills.
• Lead in a multi-disciplinary team to organise and run the interfaith memorial services for our deceased patients.

What we're looking for

• Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and/or Social Work, or Equivalent from an accredited University.
• Preferably registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
• At least 3 years of experience providing bereavement, grief or end-of-life counselling.
• Strong active listening and communication skills to effectively support individuals in distress.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiar with ethical guidelines and best practices in the counselling profession.
