Singaporean ONLY! Procurement Engineer (Diploma/Mechanical Background/Marine)

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and identify suppliers for direct/indirect materials/services to expand supplier base and for new project/production needs.
• Obtain quotes from newly sourced suppliers to provide costing and cost reduction.
• Lead in conducting periodic price negotiations with suppliers to ensure competency in cost for materials/services.
• Be part of a team to conduct supplier qualification audits as well as parts qualification to ensure suppliers can meet company needs.
• Qualify suppliers once selected to add them to the Approved Vendor List.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews on a regular basis to manage supplier quality and updates on suppliers' capabilities.
• Maintain standard operating procedures applicable to the Procurement department to ensure workflow processes are consistent.
• Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreements with suppliers.
• Work with other departments and suppliers to develop appropriate supply chain models to ensure assurance of supplies with minimal inventory holdings.
• Collaborate with departments like Engineering/Warehouse to ascertain quality standards of items supplied and establish quality plans.
• Provide periodic quotation templates to the Sales department for standard products.
• Provide quotations to the Sales department based on the scope of supplies required by customers.
• Any other task/project assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Singaporean ONLY!
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years of procurement experience. (Not suitable: Mechanical Engineer)
• At least 2 years of exposure in components sourcing and fabrication parts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
