Singlife is looking for a IFRS 17 Finance Associate. The role will play an important role in the Finance function to help ensure timely and accurate IFRS17 financial reporting by preparing actual cash flow data, maintaining configuration files for ETL processes, and preparing thorough analyses and reconciliations. The role will also be involved in process improvements and system upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely IFRS17 actual cash flow data through ETL processes, including maintaining configuration files and collaborating with IT team.
- Perform detailed reconciliations, internal controls, and analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of actual cash flow data.
- Collaborate with actuarial team to prepare and interpret analyses of IFRS17 results, including variance analysis.
- Assist in IFRS17 sub-ledger runs, journal upload to GL and related reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of audit documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and process improvements within the IFRS17 finance function.
- Assist in user acceptance testing and validation of results from source systems, data management layer and IFRS17 system.
- Collaborate with multiple teams such as Actuarial and IT to implement system changes and enhancements that support end to end IFRS17 process improvements.
- Maintain documentation of work performed, key findings and solutions as part of the implementation process.
- Explore opportunities for automation to streamline repetitive and manual tasks.
- Participate in ad-hoc activities as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
- 3-6 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit within the insurance industry.
- Experience in IFRS17 is an advantage.
- Experience in working with source system data extractions and SQL is an advantage.
- Motivated to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Alteryx or other data analysis software is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
