Product Manager - Notifications, Marketplace

Department: Product Management

Level: Experienced (Individual Contributor)

The Product Management team at Shopee is the key focal point between the business, engineering, and design teams. The team is responsible for implementing strategy, road maps, and features, while adhering to business goals. It covers all functions including but not limited to Financial Services, Supply Chain, Search, Recommendation, Advertising, Order, Promotion, User, Anti-Fraud, and Seller Service. About the Team:

As a product manager in Shopee Marketplace Notifications Team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing user engagement through personalized and timely notifications.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and data analytics to develop and optimize notification strategies that boost platform traffic, drive user retention, increase conversions, and improve the overall shopping experience.

Job Description:

  • Product Strategy Development - Define and execute the product strategies for push notifications and in-app notifications, tailored for different types of users (e.g., buyer and seller). Leverage latest technologies/algorithms to improve notification efficiency as well as to reach business goals.
  • A/B Testing and Optimisation - Design and execute A/B experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies. Continuously optimize notification content, timing, and user targeting to drive platform traffic while ensuring good user experience.
  • User Research and Data Analysis - Conduct research to understand user & business needs. Closely track key metrics and analyze performance data to identify trends, optimize strategies, inform product decisions, and also address any issues.
  • Product Development Support - Write clear and concise user stories and PRD. Prioritize features and enhancements based on user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with design, engineering, and data science teams to implement features and ensure timely delivery. Partner with local markets and all product lines to align notifications with broader promotional strategies.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior minimum 3 years' of experience in product management, preferably in an e-commerce or digital marketing environment. Familiarity with notification systems, or experience with A/B testing and data analysis will be advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Knowledge of e-commerce platform and user engagement strategies is a plus.
