Senior Staff Nurse / Staff Nurse, Cath Lab

Job Description

Provide patient care in Cardiovascular Suite and assist in interventional cardiovascular procedures, ensuring compliance with radiology safety policies and procedures for the safety of patients and others.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the care of individual patients using the nursing process approach comprising Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation in the Closed Monitoring Unit (CMU). On admission, all necessary pre-procedure checks will be done on the patient.
• Prepare patients for procedures by administering all necessary pre-medications and shaving the appropriate site, and monitor the patient closely after a procedure in the CMU, notifying the cardiologist/attending doctor of any abnormalities.
• Assist in procedures and prepare the various instrument trolleys required for various interventional procedures.
• Ensure safety to patients when applying principles of administration of contrast media, considering the contraindications and history of the patient.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations efficiently and calmly, e.g., in Code Blue.
• Perform other assignments as required by the Nurse Manager/Clinician.

Job Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Nursing
• Post Basic Specialty Certificate/Advanced Diploma in Nursing
• Singapore Nursing Board Practicing Certificate for Registered Nurse
• At least 3 years of clinical experience
• A minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiology or Radiology interventional procedures or equivalent
• 5 days work week (Mondays to Fridays, no overnight shift but with extended cases, on-call and callback)
