Analytical Chemist (Chemical MNC) | Jurong Island

Jobscope:

1. Production Support & Coordination: Act as the contact for production units, monitor lab-generated analytical results, and manage LIMS according to the analysis plan.
2. Laboratory Equipment Management: Oversee equipment operation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, including liaising with vendors for repairs.
3. Manpower & Scheduling: Allocate lab personnel and schedule tasks to support production activities effectively.
4. Procurement & Inventory Management: Purchase and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals and consumables.
5. Safety & Compliance: Lead risk assessments, ensure adherence to safe practices, and maintain quality records.
6. Training & Technical Support: Coach, guide, and train lab technicians according to the technician progression plan.
7. Continuous Improvement & Documentation: Foster method development and transfer, update analytical procedures, and be available outside office hours if required.

Requirements:

1. Min. Degree / Master's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
2. At least 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment in the chemical industry.
3. Hands-on experience in handling analytical instruments including troubleshooting.
4. Sound knowledge of lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass Oven, Rotavap, Densimeter, X-ray, TOC-Analyzer, Molsieve, TGA Analyzer.
5. Able to perform work in a chemical plant lab environment handling highly hazardous and toxic materials.
6. Experience in people management preferred.
7. Willing to work in Jurong Island.
8. Possible to be called in outside office hours (if required).
