The Role

As an Assistant Manager/Manager in the AgriFood and Sustainability Investments team at SGInnovate, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future of these critical sectors by identifying, evaluating, and supporting high-potential startups. Your role will span the full investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management, while building deep expertise in AgriFood and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: Identify and engage with innovative startups in the AgriFood and Sustainability sectors.
• Investment Due Diligence: Assess business models, financials, and technologies to make informed investment decisions.
• Sector Expertise Development: Deepen your knowledge in areas such as alternative proteins, fermentation, carbon capture, and sustainability innovations.
• Portfolio Management: Work closely with portfolio companies to drive growth, overcome challenges, and create value.
• Landscape Research: Analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and support strategic decision-making.

• Are passionate about technology and excited to explore topics like AgriFood innovation, sustainability, and climate tech.
• Have strong financial and business acumen to evaluate startups and make strategic investment decisions.
• Are driven to support startup founders and help them achieve their vision.
• Enjoy taking initiative and executing impactful projects that benefit startups and the broader ecosystem.
• Possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and spoken).
• Have a keen interest in venture capital and early-stage investing.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields is preferred.
• At least 2–5 years of work experience, with a background in venture capital, investments, or startup ecosystems considered advantageous.
