Global Merchandise Manager (Toys, gadgets, electronics, sweets)

Overview

Our client (exclusive) is a growing international company in the Retail & Merchandise sector.
To support their growth plans, they are currently on the lookout to hire a Merchandise Manager to source, identify, negotiate, qualify and onboard new suppliers of merchandise such as toys, electronics, candies, gadgets, etc.

This position will be interacting with stakeholders in US, and required to travel to America and Asian countries for supplier management activities, and negotiations. Requirements

• At least 10 years of Merchandise experience (Buying/Category/Purchasing Manager role) within the Retail/Consumer Goods sector
• Experience with Supplier Management activities (sourcing, qualification, negotiation, onboarding, development)
• Proficient Mandarin speaker in order to negotiate efficiently with Chinese vendors
• Knowledge of import and export documentation + safety compliance regulations within the toys industry
• Ability to work in a startup-like environment with a hands-on approach
• Ability to travel 25% of the time to US and Asian countries for supplier qualification and development activities

Remuneration

• $7,000 to $9,000 SGD per month + Bonus + other benefits
