HR Director - Retail / Food industry

About the Role:

A globally recognized travel retail brand undergoing transformation and merging with a food business, they are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead its Singapore function. This hands-on role requires a strategic business partner who can coach and challenge senior leaders while driving impactful HR initiatives. There are 3 direct reports: HR Manager, Training Manager, and Training Coordinator. The ideal candidate is results-driven, innovative, and adept at navigating change with a balance of assertiveness and empathy, while demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align people strategies with business objectives.
• Provide HR insights on organizational change, talent management, and leadership development.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, coaching senior stakeholders on people-related decisions.
• Lead HR through transformation, fostering an agile, high-performing workforce.
• Oversee employee engagement, performance, and retention initiatives.
• Manage and develop an HR team of three, ensuring smooth operations and a culture of continuous learning.
• Drive leadership development, succession planning, and inclusion efforts.

Key Requirements:

• 10-15 years of HR experience, with strong HR business partnering expertise.
• Background in fast-paced, high-growth environments, in retail or food & beverage industry.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and lead HR transformation.
• Strategic yet hands-on approach, comfortable in a dynamic business landscape.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
