Lead and manage the signalling team to ensure the efficient execution of maintenance and support functions while meeting and complying with safety, reliability, operational, and cybersecurity requirements.
Review Maintenance Plans, Work Instructions, and Rules & Procedures in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as Rail Engineering and Performance, Operations, IT, and Safety to ensure alignment with operational, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
Maintain robust documentation practices by ensuring timely updates to manuals, technical drawings, and cybersecurity policies, coordinating efforts with internal and external stakeholders such as Rail Engineering and Performance, Operations, and IT when required.
Manage and oversee modifications within the department to ensure compliance with standards and operational effectiveness.
Lead, participate in, and support QA, SMS, and CMS departmental audits, ensuring compliance and prompt follow-up on findings.
Monitor and analyze recurring maintenance activities together with Asset & Performance Management as well as Engineering Management to ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and availability targets.
Lead and coordinate the signalling team, including managers and executives, to address and rectify major failures within specified timeframes.
Supervise investigations into persistent faults, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective remedial actions to prevent recurrence.
Submit detailed maintenance reports, analyze fault data and trends, and recommend strategic improvements and corrective measures.
Conduct safety inspections, maintenance audits, and cybersecurity assessments to ensure adherence to established protocols and industry standards.
Plan and oversee the allocation of resources such as spares, tools, and equipment, and manage LTSS operations and spares management in collaboration with Rail Engineering and Performance to ensure efficient maintenance operations, optimal system performance, and effective resource utilization.
Develop and manage the section operating budget, ensuring expenses align with approved limits.
Identify training needs and collaborate with training coordinators to develop and deliver technical training programs for the team.
Lead initiatives to improve asset performance and reliability, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and expectations.
Monitor system performance and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
Oversee the cybersecurity framework of the signalling system, addressing vulnerabilities, enforcing cybersecurity policies, and managing incident response and recovery plans.
Develop and implement contingency plans and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the continued operation of critical systems during emergencies.
Requirements
Minimum a degree or equivalent in Electrical, Computer or Electronic Engineering in recognized degrees.
At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance of railway signaling systems or similar.
Familiarity with designing, operating, or maintaining CBTC (Communication Based Train Control), ATC (Automatic Train Control), signaling interlocking, and PSD (Platform Screen Doors) systems.
Able to articulate ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders, backed by strong analytical skills for data assessment, troubleshooting, and devising effective solutions.
Skilled at developing work plans, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Demonstrated success in supervising teams, motivating staff, promoting collaboration, and building strong relationships to maintain a productive, supportive work environment.
