Medical Technologist (3 shift/ Blood Bank/ Haematology)

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs routine test procedures, automated or manual, in the laboratory with little direct supervision.
• Assists in training of new personnel.
• Maintains a clean and well-organised work area.
• Maintains proper inventory level of all supplies and reports any deficiency to the appropriate section manager or the designate.
• Reviews all daily QC results and discusses any problems with the appropriate section manager or the designate.
• Checks the performance of all instruments in the Laboratory and reports any which are not functioning properly.
• Supports flexible staffing requirements in the department and participates in shift duties.
• Complies with all regulatory guidelines, participating in CAP proficiency testing, National proficiency testing, and inter-Hospital QA programs.
• Participates in a routine maintenance program for instruments and in ongoing CME and professional development programs.
• Develops rapport with all the Laboratory Staff as well as with other Hospital departments.
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time by management.

Requirements:

• Recognised diploma or certificate in medical Laboratory technology, or recognised Bachelor of Science degree or polytechnic Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a related medical laboratory.
