Oliver Wyman’s Insurance and Asset Management practice supports its clients with leading edge topics and uniquely combines deep strategy expertise, a thorough quantitative understanding and rich implementation experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the execution of individual project modules. This typically includes developing hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation and analyses, conducting primary and secondary research, creatively tackling information limitations, and surfacing insights.
  • Supporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high-quality case execution.
  • Owning and developing executive client relationships, presenting to a wide range of audiences, and working day-to-day with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Managing and developing the capabilities of junior consulting staff.

Experience Required:

  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or familiarity with one or more of the Insurance sectors of Life insurance, General Insurance, Health, Reinsurance and Asset/investment management.
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
  • Thematic experience may include, for example:
    • Strategy – e.g. portfolio and product, growth, distribution, internationalization, M&A.
    • Operations – e.g. claims, underwriting, technology, operating models, post-merger integration.
    • Financial effectiveness – e.g. risk, capital, asset valuation, models, regulation.
  • Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments.
  • Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Know how to take the initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and put the ones you’ve already got to good use.
  • Not just intelligence, but creativity too: ready to come up with novel ideas to solve our clients’ biggest problems.
  • A willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our incredibly talented team.
