We are seeking a talented Application Support specialist with a strong aptitude for programming to join our dynamic Capital Market Department!
In this role, you will not only provide exceptional technical support but also actively contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our support processes. Your programming expertise will allow you to be instrumental in developing custom solutions into automating tasks, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Capital Markets IT involves technology solutions and systems used in financial markets for trading, investment, and related activities. This includes electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, market risk, counterparty risk, algorithmic trading, data analytics, and regulatory measures. The use of advanced technologies like APIs, artificial intelligence, and cloud solutions are also becoming increasingly prevalent in capital markets to enhance efficiency and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Application Monitoring Responsibilities:
- Define and implement in coordination with the build team the needed application monitoring.
- Supervise and monitor daily and monthly chains and handle user requests by working closely with project, infrastructure, and production teams.
- Support overnight batches which take place during the Singapore morning and early afternoon time to ensure that problems are swiftly analyzed and resolved to minimize downtime.
- Process and issue daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on data quality of risk chain in which the activity is usually more intense on monthly runs.
- Incidents and Requests Management:
- Provide level 1 and level 2 application support to business users (trader, risk manager, market risk monitoring operator, back-office and middle-office analyst, market data administrator, etc.).
- Analyze and manage incidents/problems/requests.
- Problem Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Prepare and maintain a knowledge base for each of the applications in the scope of the team in coordination with the build team and the ops team.
- Collaborate with the build team to assess the priority of the problem and follow up the resolution, even contributing to the definition of long-term solutions.
- Provide non-functional requirements to the build team to implement monitoring as code whenever available.
- Automated Solution Programming:
- Write and maintain programmable code outlined in technical instructions and specifications for software applications and operating systems.
- The Support analyst should have a pro-active mindset in security, incident preventive measures, productivity, and global improvement of the quality of service. Candidate should have a strong appetite for the capital market functional business.
SKILLS
Must have:
- 1-3 years of experience in application support activities
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux, PowerShell scripting
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of Capital Markets Domain and market activities
- Good understanding of ITIL Concepts
- Proven experience in technical proficiency with strong skills in SQL
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and Docker and any cloud platform
- Basic understanding of No-SQL DB
- Should be able to do SLA & KPI management, client communication & interaction, predictive analysis, consulting, escalation management, risk analysis, and project execution
- Appetite for continuous improvement and automation

Nice to have:
- ITIL certification
- Exposure to the Capital Markets with proficiency in financial instruments (Bonds, Rates, Equity, etc.), trading lifecycle, and market data.
- Relevant experience with working with external sources like Bloomberg, Reuters.
- Knowledge on Regulatory Reporting (MAS, HKMA, EMIR, JFSA, CFTC, MIFID)
- Knowledge in XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT and Control-M, Kafka.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Elastic Search, Grafana).
