Purpose of the role, summary

  1. Be one of the strategic leaders in Kian Soon Group to drive the company’s ambitious growth plan.
  2. Play an active role in the development and implementation of HR strategy and initiatives to support business needs.
  3. Liaise with line managers to understand critical requirements, project future skills demand, and collaborate with hiring managers to prioritize requirements. The role influences the assimilation of new hires into the organization effectively. It also focuses on learning programs to bridge staff capability gaps and build new skills.
  4. Assist the Managing Director in managing compensation and benefits policies of the Company to maximize staff retention and talent acquisition.
  5. Manage employee issues and support line managers in exit and retirement processes.
  6. Promote a positive work culture in line with organizational values and reinforce employer branding.
  7. Assist the Managing Director in managing Environmental, Health, and Safety within the corporation.
  8. Assist the Managing Director in managing Company events related to employee benefits.
  9. Be a bridge between the management team and the workforce, as well as between Kian Soon Group and Bufab BU APAC.

Expected outcome

  1. Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  2. Overseeing all HR processes and procedures, ensuring 100% legal compliance at all sites.
  3. Responsible for HR-related budget and cost matters, working closely with business leaders to continuously improve workforce overall efficiency.
  4. Identify, develop, plan, and implement HR programs that impact business operations in the areas of C&B management, talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, staff retention, and employer branding.
  5. Develop and integrate the Bufab Code of Conduct and discipline policies and procedures, in line with organizational values.
  6. Establish and execute employee communications and engagement initiatives. Derive meaningful insights and analyses from such engagement as inputs for HR programs. Constantly review and refresh for effectiveness.
  7. Develop solutions and facilitate negotiations to resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and disputes to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
  8. Recommend programs and initiatives to strengthen relationships among employees.
  9. Analyze current organizational employer brand position to identify gaps, propose potential improvements and enhancements to the employer brand.
  10. Develop training plans, evaluate and assess the effectiveness of training for the company’s total training and development plan.
  11. Identify changes required to HR systems for better alignment with industry best practices.
  12. Develop and implement employee health and well-being programs in the workplace.
  13. Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety related activities.
  14. Perform other HR or admin tasks and ad-hoc projects as may be assigned by MD.

Required Qualifications & Competences

  1. Minimum: Degree in Business or Diploma in HRM.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources.
  3. Teamwork within the team and across departments.
  4. Effective time and stress management.
  5. Multi-tasking in a fast-paced working environment.
  6. Negotiation skills.
  7. Ability to use MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  8. Good command of Mandarin and English in both writing and oral (may need to translate important communication messages to Mandarin speaking colleagues).
