The Opportunity
Adecco is partnering with a leading bank for an Underwriter, Institutional Credit Management APAC
Focus: Underwriting of securitized loans/warehouses in coordination with origination and deal closing teams.
Office Location: CBD
Contract till Feb 2026
The Talent
5-8+ years of credit experience, with a minimum of 3 years in securitized loan underwriting or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow-up.
Quantitative skills with high proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft programs.
Excellent analytical and computer skills, with the ability to quickly adopt new technology.
Additional non-core qualifications include:
Demonstrated track record and working knowledge of applying lending Underwriting Guidelines, with familiarity in the processes of Rating Agencies for securitized products.
Tact and composure to be client-focused while managing internal and external relationships. A successful Underwriter will take ownership while maintaining attention to detail and working independently.
Ability to read, comprehend, and summarize legal documents collected in the due diligence process or produced by the bank's legal counsel.
Working knowledge of loan transactions under market standard syndication loan format will be weighted in favor of the successful candidate.
Ability to travel (10-20% of the time) on short notice is necessary.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken) to handle the China market.
Respond to Transactors and clients on underwriting requests for credit extensions for new and existing clients, and conduct annual reviews for complex securitized loan portfolios.
Conduct and review due diligence, prepare internal committee packages for approval, and follow through to obtain credit approvals from the committee.
If required, work with loan/bond sale team members for the sale or syndication of the loans to other lenders and/or Bond Investors and with Rating Agencies.
Prepare monthly and/or quarterly reviews of existing borrowers to track compliance with various covenants or triggers as outlined in the Credit Agreement.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the bank's products and services within Corporate Banking, Global Markets, and the broader organization.
Be or become very familiar with the bank's credit and regulatory policies and practices to ensure compliance and satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
Leverage existing credit background to achieve Credit Officer designation.
Provide backup to other underwriting team members to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of underwriting to clients as needed. Recommend changes to processes to achieve greater efficiency.
Potential to travel outside of home base to meet with internal and external clients, conduct due diligence on specific asset portfolios, and participate in training opportunities.
