Job Description

Duke-NUS Medical School, a US-style graduate-entry medical school in Singapore, is seeking an innovative and skilled Assistant/Associate Professor of Programme Evaluation to contribute to the Quality Assurance (QA) unit within the Education Advancement Department. This position plays a key role in supporting the institution’s commitment to continuous quality improvement (QI) across its educational programmes, aligning evaluation initiatives with Duke-NUS’s institutional goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting systematic programme evaluations to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and enhancement of educational offerings. This role involves developing evaluation frameworks, identifying performance indicators, and using data-driven insights to inform programme improvements. Additionally, the role includes conducting scoping reviews to pinpoint research gaps that can guide the department's strategic direction and contribute to educational scholarship. Working closely with team leaders, the successful candidate will ensure that evaluations and research support informed decision-making and foster innovation within the Education Advancement Department.

Job Role

Programme Evaluation
• Coordinate and implement systematic evaluation processes for key educational programmes, including defining key performance indicators, developing evaluation frameworks, and analysing data to support programme refinement.
• Lead efforts to ensure that programme evaluations are aligned with institutional goals and contribute meaningfully to educational effectiveness.
Quality Improvement Initiatives
• Partner with the QA lead and other stakeholders to translate evaluation findings into actionable recommendations that drive continuous improvement in educational programmes.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality and outcomes of educational offerings based on data-driven insights.
Scoping Reviews
• Conduct scoping reviews to identify current research and practice gaps in educational advancement, guiding the department’s strategic research agenda.
• Work with cross-functional teams to prioritise research topics that align with Duke-NUS’s institutional goals, contributing to the broader scholarship of education.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as a liaison between the Quality Assurance team and other Departments, ensuring that evaluation and research efforts are strategically aligned with institutional objectives.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations and feedback loops to refine and adapt evaluation frameworks, ensuring stakeholder perspectives are incorporated.
Collaboration with Research Teams
• Collaborate with internal and external research teams on study design, research publications, and identifying opportunities for advancing educational research.
• Support stakeholders in interpreting evaluation findings and developing their own improvement plans based on evidence and logical frameworks, fostering a culture of data-informed decision-making.

Qualifications


• Advanced Degree (MD/MBBS, Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in education, programme evaluation, educational research, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in programme evaluation, quality assurance, and educational research, particularly in higher education or health professions education.
• Strong background in programme evaluation methodologies and data analysis.
• Experience with scoping reviews, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across Departments.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear, accessible manner to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, especially in guiding teams to use evaluation findings for program improvement.
• Experience engaging stakeholders in programme evaluation processes, helping to foster their understanding and involvement in quality improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for educational program enhancement.
• Ability to drive collaborative research initiatives and contribute to the scholarship of educational advancement.
