Job description:

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for carrying out the design tasks and supporting the design activities
  2. Prepare the Technical Specifications
  3. Prepare the General Arrangement Plan (GAP)
  4. Development of new designs and design concepts
  5. Involve in technical discussions with Owner(s), Classification bodies and suppliers, where required
  6. Perform on-site checking and discussions to resolve issues at site with Production, Ship Repair Managers, Consultants, Classification Society Surveyors, Owners etc.
  7. Define the material and equipment, and determine the required scope of supply (material, standards and documentation) for PR
  8. Prepare drawings (2D & 3D) and documents as per the contractual technical specification and Classification/Statutory Authorities Rules and Regulations
  9. Conduct Design Reviews and Integration Reviews to finalise layout arrangement, installation and interface requirements
  10. Perform engineering calculations, design and computer simulation analysis
  11. Ensure equipment specification, technical information, functional description document, installation control document, and interface design specification are properly maintained, disseminated, and used for the preparation of design work activities
  12. Update Department Head on work progress/status and shortcomings on technical issues on projects under charge
  13. Ensure quality control in the design/drawing process
  14. Safeguard restricted documents and drawings
  15. Participate in harbour sea acceptance trials, where necessary
  16. Keep abreast with current technological developments and products, Classification rules, military and industrial standards, and other standards relevant to design activities

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  2. Relevant experience in Marine or Integration work will be advantageous
  3. Able to use or learn software such as AutoCAD to produce drawings (2D & 3D)
  4. Keen interest in project management and coordination work
  5. Able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  6. Only Singaporeans need apply

Additional Information:

  • Location: 16 Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5 days work week
  • Working Hours: 7.25am to 5.00pm
