Analyst (Information)

What The Role Is

You conduct research and provide timely analysis of the information environment, with focus on defence, security developments and socio-economic issues.

What You Will Be Working On

1. Conduct research and analysis of the information environment
2. Perform information network analysis
3. Study the resonance of narratives in the information environment
4. Liaise with stakeholders on collection requirements, planning, and execution
5. Support capability development with various entities
6. Provide accurate, relevant, and timely analytical products

Challenge(s)

1. Embracing a steep learning curve in a complex field
2. Quickly making sense of ongoing developments and conversations in the information environment

What We Are Looking For

1. Education in Mass Communications or Social Sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Economics)
2. Good analytical and writing skills
3. Good awareness of Singapore's political, defence, and security developments as well as understanding of current affairs
4. Acute awareness of the regional and international media environment
5. Ability to leverage media environment knowledge for MINDEF/SAF's benefit
6. Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous
