Safety Coordinator

Job Description

1. Execute appropriate safety measurements in accordance with the Workplace Safety & Health Act.
2. Liaise closely with operations staff, Project Managers, clients, main contractors, consultants, and authorities on all safety and health issues.
3. Conduct safety training programs and hold toolbox meetings for employees, including new hires and ongoing training sessions to ensure awareness of WSH protocols and regulations.
4. Coordinate and maintain records of safety orientation and daily toolbox meetings.
5. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and risks.
6. Ensure safe work practices are adhered to by all parties in the daily site activities.
7. Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with prevailing MOM regulations and Company ISO & OSHAS policies.
8. Carry out accident/incident reporting and investigations and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
9. Attend to all feedback on safety irregularities and inform Management accordingly.
10. Enforce all safety legislation and in-house safety rules and regulations.
11. Ensure supervisors and workers are following the safe work procedures compliance.
12. Liaise with relevant authorities during visits/complaints or feedback if necessary.
13. Detect safety violations and report to Management.
14. Follow Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) when responding to emergency situations.
15. Report to Management the daily progress of scaffolding erection, modification, re-erection, and dismantling activities.
16. Carry out site supervision of erection, re-erection, modification, and de-staging activities to ensure compliance with defined standards of performance.
17. Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of equipment and tools ensuring they are in good working condition at all times.
18. Assist in other ad hoc duties as and when assigned.

Qualifications

1. 1 to 2 years of relevant experience as a safety coordinator is highly preferred.
2. Certificates in Work At Height Course for Assessors and Safety Coordinator Course.
3. Possess good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
4. Willing to work beyond normal working hours as and when required.
5. Willing to work within Ubi Crescent Vicinity.
