The Role

This position will be leading the communications and branding initiatives, managing Alumni and International Relations, and spearheading Development strategies for NUS Nursing (Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies).

Job Description

Communications & Branding

  • Develop a comprehensive communications and branding strategy for ALCNS and harmonise department's initiatives by working closely with NUS, NUS Medicine and NUHS Communications Offices.
  • Develop contents for ALCNS Newsletter "Vitals", website and social media platforms to brand ALCNS as a leading nursing academic entity and promote department academic activities.
  • Design collaterals (multi-language) to market ALCNS educational programmes to different target groups and invite collaborations with overseas partners.
  • Organise roadshows, seminars, booth participation in conferences to promote department activities, recruit academic talents, attract prospective students etc.
  • Oversee the development of a museum section for ALCNS to curate, exhibit and conserve artifacts and documents to display department and nursing's heritage, culture, milestones etc.


Alumni & International Relations

  • Design and roll out initiatives to enhance the department's global presence
  • Foster positive relationships with international partners and stakeholders, engage and foster lifelong connections with our alumni community.
  • Create an exuberant alumni culture through engagement activities to expand ALCNS's network and create opportunities for alumni to contribute towards department academic goals.
  • Develop and implement a portfolio of programmes for ALCNS alumni
  • Support alumni-led initiatives through volunteer engagement and alumni advisory councils.
  • Organise events to cultivate connections with students and integrate them be part of alumni upon graduation.
  • Oversee and manage other common core alumni services such as data collection, maintaining databases of alumni and partners, preparing management reports,etc.
  • Support in positioning ALCNS as a choice academic partner.
  • Main liaison for all enquiries for visits, study trips, setting up of booths in roadshows, events and conferences.
  • Maintain and grow a database of overseas partners of their niche strengths and interests and connect them to ALCNS counterparts to develop collaborations and partnerships.


Development and Implementation of strategies to cultivate and steward relationships with donors

  • Support department in fundraising activities and harmonise department's initiatives by working closely with NUS, NUS Medicine and NUHS Development Offices.
  • Be up-to-date with fundraising policies and standard operating procedures, including carrying out appropriate due diligence on donors.
  • Develop and oversee the prospect pipeline on the development database and ensuring all records are clean, up-to-date and relevant.
  • Systematically review prospect ratings and target gifts to ensure these are always accurate and up to date.
  • Provide support in the preparation of funding proposals. Prepare briefs and papers to support senior colleagues in key meetings.
  • Partner with central Development Offices to develop and implement a strategy for donor stewardship
  • Produce regular communications to donors and updating them on the impact of their donation.
Qualifications
  • At least 15 years of working experience (3 years in supervisory role) in principles and techniques of marketing and communications, alumni relations and development activities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing small teams with strong sense of initiative.
  • Exceptional collaborative team player with a high degree of professionalism and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in Chinese and experience working in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a high level of confidence in interpersonal interactions with a diverse mix of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, project management, and data analytic skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
