The purchasing manager's responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day transactional buying activities to ensure goods, materials, and services meet their standard, quality, and timing to ensure no supply disruptions.
Initiate cost reduction programs for material costs at appropriate intervals.
Drive the Supply Chain development and sourcing activities (in cross-functional teams) focusing on localizing material supply for production and reducing cost and lead time.
Responsible for overall suppliers' contract management including negotiation of new contracts, renewal contracts, and ensuring full compliance of contract management.
Monitor market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing and provide resolutions to the site with detailed impact analysis.
Ensure Site Purchasing and Procurement SOPs are established and updated timely and aligned with HQ Purchasing and Procurement Guidelines.
Accountable for monitoring compliance and adherence of SOPs at the site level including pricing maintenance, user access rights to various procurement platforms, credit terms, purchase order terms and conditions, and approval of purchases.
Maintain and further develop a KPI system to monitor the performance of purchasing activities and foster digitization of procurement processes.
Initiate and drive process improvements to optimize procurement processes and workflow.
Ensure strict compliance with all corporate policies and guidelines.
Qualification and Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree: Procurement, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
10-15 years of working experience in a purchasing or procurement function in a contract manufacturing environment.
More than 5 years of management experience.
Management skills, tools, and techniques that ensure strategic, profit-oriented handling.
Human relations skills (team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness, networking).
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a multi-national environment.
Strong supervisory and leadership capability with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Process-minded with strong analytical skills.
Adaptability to a fast-changing environment.
Able to work independently and under time pressure.
Possess a good attitude, self-motivated, result-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to changes positively.
Good knowledge of MS Office tools and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Working experience in Vietnam or emerging markets would be an advantage.
Understanding of systems and processes, establishing and building, and motivating new teams at operational and international levels.
