The Role: Pricing Management & Commercial Policy Leader, East Asia will lead the implementation of a world-class, closed-loop pricing management & commercial policy process in East Asia, cultivating a culture of optimized pricing that aligns with regional business priorities for market share, revenue, and profitability. Drive pricing and quotation performance, lead commercial policy processes, enhance competencies in pricing, quotation, and commercial policy, and ensure effective communication of pricing, quotation, and commercial policy strategies.
What will you do?
Drive pricing & quotation performance processes
- Set and lead the implementation of pricing strategies and action plans aimed at optimizing market share, revenue, and profitability.
- Drive the pricing and quotation processes, tools development and transformation, ensuring alignment with data governance, consistent methodology, efficiency through process automation, actionable insights by analytics, and scalability across the region to deliver lasting business impact.
- Lead the deployment of global pricing initiatives to support local Pricing Business Partners, such as PFX, E2E PMA, Unify Pricing Condition alignment, CPQ, and Quotation Self-Service.
- Lead the regional pricing initiatives to assist local Pricing Business Partners, including Profit Optimization Analyzer, Competition Price analysis, Corridor/Floor Price management, SPA Utilization, Promotion ROI Analysis, and Quote P&L simulation.
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation for initiatives, evaluate the quality of stage gate deliverables for pricing initiatives, and provide the management team with informed recommendations to expedite, pause, or conclude/exit from specific initiatives
Drive commercial policy processes
- Champion commercial policy processes – including but not limited to yearly update of partner agreements by legal, timely signing and upload of contracts to the global Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool, and update of the commercial policy playbook.
- Provide oversight on governance including advising, training, educating country stakeholders on the Commercial Policies in the region, including forbidden rules.
- Work closely with Legal, Tax, Finance to review commercial policies.
- Work with global teams to drive deployment, adoption, and improvement of global Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Tool.
Enhance pricing, quotation and commercial policy competencies
- Demonstrate sound commercial judgment and strategic thinking in decision-making processes.
- Coordinate pricing, quotation, commercial policy initiatives, strategies, and action plans among different functions, including offer marketing, category/channel marketing, finance, and sales.
- Develop and implement strategic pricing capabilities for Offer Marketers (OMs), encouraging more strategic thinking in pricing approaches.
- Influence stakeholders, including Business VPs, with strong insights derived from combined analysis using various tools.
- Train CFOs on price optimization competency, enhancing financial decision-making related to pricing.
Ensure pricing, quotation, and commercial policy communication effectiveness
- Communicate commercial policy, pricing, quotation strategies, processes, tools, and roadmap to stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills to manage stakeholders, get buy in of pricing initiatives, drive adoption of processes and tools.
- Actively participate in global programs, continuous process improvement and periodic transverse coordination meetings between global and local teams.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in pricing management, commercial policy or channel management or product management, preferably in a multinational company.
- Strong leadership capabilities to functionally manage a team of pricing managers and analysts
- Solid influencing skills and impactful communication at a managerial level
- Expertise in coaching and delivering impactful training to transfer knowledge effectively
- Strong business acumen with fluency in data and analytics
- English fluency
