The Office of Admissions (OAM) oversees full-time undergraduate admissions, scholarships, and financial aid. Reporting to the Provost’s Office, OAM develops and implements policies and operations related to undergraduate admissions and the award of scholarships and financial aid, and markets the university’s undergraduate programmes.
We are currently looking for a Management Assistant Officer (Scholarships & Financial Aid) to join us. You will provide administrative support for the university’s scholarships and financial aid schemes. The duties include providing assistance in managing and monitoring the university’s existing and graduated scholarship recipients, as well as handling financial aid schemes such as loans and bursaries.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and monitoring of the University’s scholarship recipients while they are studying at the University and after they graduate, assist in the handling of various applications and enquiries, verification and preparation of documents, tracking of processes, as well as contacting and providing advice to scholars through letter/email/phone/face-to-face meetings, etc.
- Support financial aid offered by the University by processing financial aid applications, handling enquiries as well as assisting in the selection, offer, disbursement, and monitoring process.
- Assist in general corporate and secretariat functions.
- Assist/back-up colleagues in other administrative functions.
- Participate in outreach activities locally and overseas.
- Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Polytechnic Diploma holder, or GCE A / O Levels with at least 2 years of working experience in administrative and corporate support.
- Preferably possess understanding of issues related to scholarships and financial aid.
- Experience in the education industry and customer service will be advantageous.
- Meticulous and organised, able to plan, prioritise and coordinate a portfolio of activities to meet the necessary deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
