Job description

Job Summary:

Support the Programmes Manager and Deputy Director in the planning and implementation of activities in the community outreach work of Morning Star Community Services in Sengkang and Whampoa.

The incumbent is able to work Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, and/or 1pm to 9pm to support operations to ensure the successful running of the centres.

Key Responsibility Areas

Programmes Management

  • Assist to create and raise awareness of the programmes and develop good relationships with the community and agencies.
  • Co-plan, organize activities and events to promote and enhance the programmes.
  • Follow up and liaise with clients to achieve desired results.
  • Stakeholder management – able to attend to queries from clients and other partners.
  • Liaise with colleagues and social agencies for relevant information.
  • Data collection, monitoring outcomes, and generating reports.

Centres Management

  • Support a team of operational colleagues; manage and train other front-line colleagues to meet service standards.
  • Handle incidents at the centres and report in a professional manner.
  • Manage the centres to ensure the programme runs efficiently and effectively in a safe environment.

Volunteer Management

  • Daily management of volunteers, including resource planning and allocation.
  • Engage volunteers to ensure continuity of service.
  • Update and monitor the development of volunteers.
  • Facilitate activities as required.

Any other duties as assigned by the Programmes Manager and/or Deputy Director.

Requirements

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in similar roles managing community-based projects.
  • Experience in the social service sector is preferable.

Qualifications:

Minimally a Diploma, preferably in Social Services, Psychology, or Counselling.

Other Requirements:

  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Relevant decision-making skills.
  • At least two years of relevant working experience in community outreach.
  • Organized and meticulous.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • IT-savvy, proficient with social media platforms and design tools such as Canva.
  • Able to work on some weeknights and weekends.
