Citi’s Risk Management organization oversees Citi’s risk governance framework and risk appetite, ensures all risks generated by the firm’s businesses are measured, reviewed, and monitored on an ongoing basis.

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Director, Risk Manager, Wealth Risk Management - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Credit Portf Sr Officer II - C15) based in Singapore. This is a senior-level position responsible for leading risk management activities including credit consultations, reviews and approvals in Citi’s Wealth business across Asia North & Australia and Asia South Clusters. The role requires monitoring of portfolio to identify trends, anticipate stress events that could impair performance and take proactive actions to ensure zero cost of credit. The role also requires partnership and active engagement with Country Risk Management to ensure that the Wealth credit portfolio is compliant with regulations. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Lead risk management activities associated with the Wealth’s Wholesale Credit Portfolio.
  • Conduct internal and external oversight reviews.
  • Provide credible challenge on all risk generating activities for improved decision-making, increased efficiency and leverage lessons learnt to drive process improvements and future enhancements.
  • Partner with stakeholders, including Lending Advisors, Wealth Banker teams, Wealth Underwriting and Product Specialists, to ensure that we align with Citi’s global operating structure and global Risk team to drive efficiencies and greater focus on clients that we serve.
  • Conduct or participate in Wealth portfolio reviews to understand how risk-taking activities and stress testing shape portfolio performance; undertake proactive risk management actions to ensure that business operates within risk appetite.
  • Develop risk talent, including conducting regular risk trainings.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or professional qualification (CA/ CFA).
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Existing Senior Credit Officer (SCO) with extensive years of experience in banking/ financial services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of strategic direction of the function.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing client relationship/ obligor risk through economic cycles and managing wholesale credit in remedial mode.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication; proven analytic and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the industry dynamics and key banking products.
  • In-depth conceptual/practical grounding in the function and/or expertise in related subject areas.
  • Exercises effective people management skills.
