Director, Project Manager (Bank, Permanent)

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers within the respective applications, ensuring effective project execution and professional development of the team members.

• Assist IT leadership in developing annual work and resource plans.

• Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.

• Oversee the execution of high-priority programs, monitoring progress, budgets, and risks to ensure successful outcomes.

• Collaborate with IT partners to identify and support technology-driven innovation initiatives; work closely with stakeholders to facilitate MVP, including deployment, testing, and validation.

• Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and engage vendors to assess the suitability of new solutions.

• Continually manage stakeholders' expectations through governance processes and deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication.

• Provide status reporting to management regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and communicate across leadership and relevant project stakeholders.

• Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business and ensure the program is aligned to and supports strategic objectives.

• Understand interdependencies between technology and business needs; monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, at least 15+ years of experience preferably with exposure in Banking and Finance industry and Technology environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Experience in system development work with prior experience in functional, technical specifications, and system development.

• Strong understanding and experience in the software development cycle (Waterfall or Agile best practices).

• Strong negotiation skills and vendor project management skills with experience in vendor product management will be an added advantage.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

• Full end-to-end project management in a lead role.
