This role will lead the transformation initiatives in Operations function within APAC region (excluding China and Japan) to transform and enhance efficiency, optimize processes, and drive innovation within the bank’s operational functions. This role will drive and ensure smooth transitions and successful implementation of business-critical changes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the rollout and implementation of global and regional operations efficiency initiatives across the branches within APAC region (excluding Japan and China), ensuring smooth integration and process optimization.
  • Oversee budget planning and financial management for operational initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and optimal resource allocation.
  • Drive regional operations business management and reporting, delivering insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Devise impact assessment of approach and collaborate with Process Management, Product Owners and Product stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration and coordination between branch operations and head office in Japan, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and best practices.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team by providing guidance and coaching and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Define, measure and explore current state processes to agree on areas for simplification, standardization and/or automation using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Validate the regulatory and policy environment through partnership and syndication of plans, partnering with technology and business stakeholders to define implementation options and roadmap.
  • Design and enhance operational workflows and processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk and support business growth.
  • Provide fact-driven root cause analysis and hypotheses based on data analysis to discover areas that need improvements.
  • Manage operations risk and control frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business process re-engineering, with regional exposure in Bank Operations.
  • Experience as a business analyst, project manager and operations manager in Banking Operations change projects.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Stakeholder management – Able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and drive initiatives successfully to implement changes.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to influence stakeholders, promote initiatives and drive changes effectively.
  • Knowledge of banking products (e.g. Deposit & Payment, Trade Finance, Loans and Global Markets).
  • Project Management – Adept with the ability to manage multiple process improvement initiatives effectively.
  • Change Management – Ability to drive change within the organization.
  • Data Analysis & Performance Metrics – Strong analytical skills to assess processes, interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to details, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in execution.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP), Change management certifications (e.g. Prosci).
