Job Summary

  • Lead the development and execution of FMCG BD strategies for clients and establish long-term profitable relationships with new and existing clients in line with business objectives.
  • Ensure the right alignment across his cluster, provide effective training and coaching for his team members.

General Responsibilities

Financial Contributions:

  • Deliver annual BD financial targets including but not restrictive, NSV, Incr. Ebit & RONOC.
  • Ensure that new business will be accretive to the current P&L.

Operational Contributions:

  • Participate in building the annual BD Strategy along with the Senior Director and his peer.
  • Lead the development and execution of the BD strategy in his cluster to achieve short and long-term business objectives.
  • Drive the identification, evaluation and management of business opportunities/leads that will contribute to short and long term financial goals.
  • Oversee market research & business analyses, evaluate findings, assess the strategic viability of alternative opportunities and propose recommendations.
  • Lead contract negotiation activities with clients to facilitate deal closing. Advise on upselling opportunities.
  • Take the lead in relationship management with key clients. Effective coordination with relevant DKSH client managers to ensure a healthy productive client business relationship.

Internal Contributions:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, both local and Global, in identifying upselling opportunities, deal negotiations and finalization of contracts.
  • Lead the establishment of long-term relationships with potential key clients/customers with the view to enhance business opportunities.

People Contributions:

  • Set direction and cascade BD strategies to BD teams at Cluster level to ensure goals are well-defined and clearly communicated.
  • Drive and manage learning and development of BD teams in the area of business development and DKSH behavior to achieve team/function goals.
  • Drive self-learning and improvement in the area of business development and DKSH behavior as part of continuous learning process.

Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience in applying business development principles for medium to large sized companies in FMCG industries.
  • Demonstrated application of strategic thinking, business acumen in thought processes and decision-making.
  • Proven client and customer account management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage regional/country level assignments and projects.
  • Proven proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in cross-country/culture interactions.
  • Demonstrated fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Able to inspire and motivate his/her teams.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Insight and exposure to Asian working styles and culture.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a highly complex business environment and to think laterally to create solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s in Business Administration is preferred.
  • Other qualifications related to the technical know-how work area will be considered.
