Director, Cloud Engineering

We are partnering with one of our clients in the telco industry, and as part of their exciting transformation journey, they are looking for a Director, Cloud Engineer to oversee the planning, building, delivery, and operations of their cutting-edge cloud platform and marketplace. This role combines technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for innovation to unlock new opportunities in the region.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the development and lifecycle management of our cloud platform, including service transitions, patches, and upgrades.
2. Drive comprehensive solutions planning, platform security, and seamless service fulfillment.
3. Manage support contracts, oversee testing and acceptance, and ensure timely resolution of customer tickets.
4. Handle incident management, dispute resolution, and maintain high operational standards.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or Electrical Engineering.
2. More than 10 years in the industry with experience leading IT teams and delivering complex, multi-tenant platforms.
3. Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and platform lifecycle management.
4. Proven ability in incident management, customer ticket resolution, and service optimization.
5. Competent in enabling security by design and managing robust firewall configurations.
6. Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
7. Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with Java, PHP, or .NET.
8. Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and networking (DNS, VPN, routing, load balancing).
9. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
