Job Description
The Db2 Database Engineering Administration team is part of Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) Technology Platform and is responsible for common integration infrastructure that supports communication between multiple enterprise applications and multiple business lines. Should you join our team, you will be responsible for managing the team that provides design, integration, advanced problem analysis, successful deployment, and continuous operational improvement of Db2 z OS database technology used at Visa. You should be well versed in database administration practices and principles as you will share the responsibility of managing overall database build, deployment and support. You will be expected to be an influential technical domain authority for the database team.
This Director role is responsible for the team that delivers database administration solutions which involves complex problem solving and taking a broad perspective to identify creative solutions. This management role also serves as a technical functional specialist that guides the team to provide Db2 z OS database administration and solutions on development and production systems.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technology field
• Proven experience as a Db2 z OS Database Administrator or Manager
• Experience in providing solutions for very large database requirements
• Troubleshooting techniques and attentive, thoughtful problem diagnosis
• Auditing, Security and SOX compliance and reporting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills
• Experience in setting and tracking technical goals, operational SLAs, and OKRs
• Excellent leadership and team building skills
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
