Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counselling.
Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients.
Raise awareness and educate colleagues in the health field about the benefits of healthy eating and the latest research.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the work of other health care professionals, patients, and corporate clients.
Work with kitchen staff and dietitians to assure meals served conform to nutritional standards and department standards.
Conduct nutrient analysis for foods and menus by developing recipes and menus.
Develop and conduct health talks, demonstrations, and workshops for the public and workplaces.
Plan and prepare grant proposals to request program funding.
Plan and assist with nutrition-related projects and gather statistics of the projects.
Give talks and deliver presentations on the results of nutrition project trials.
Any other duties as assigned by managers/supervisors.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science, Dietetics, Food Science, Life Science (with human physiology and biochemistry), or a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition.
