Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients.
Raise awareness and educate colleagues in the health field about the benefits of healthy eating and the latest research.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the work of other health care professionals, patients, and corporate clients.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietitians to ensure meals served conform to nutritional and departmental standards.
Conduct nutrient analysis for foods and menus by developing recipes and menus.
Develop and conduct health talks, demonstrations, and workshops for the public and workplaces.
Plan and prepare grant proposals to request program funding.
Assist with nutrition-related projects and gather statistics on the projects.
Deliver presentations on the results of nutrition project trials.
Perform any other duties as assigned by managers/supervisors.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science, Dietetics, Food Science, or Life Science Degree that incorporates human physiology and biochemistry (or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition).
