Deputy Project Safety Manager

Job Description

1. Monitor Contractors' safety performance and participate actively in site safety management, highlighting to the relevant parties on immediate actions to be taken.
2. Follow up on all safety matters related to Design for Safety (DfS), WSH, etc.
3. Conduct safety inspections, including taking photos of unsafe acts and conditions and bringing them to the main contractor's attention.
4. Issue and closely follow up on field observation notices, including safety non-conformance notices, and respond to site incident(s) to ensure contractors carry out emergency response as required.
5. Conduct roving safety inspections, emergency & incident response, and fact-finding.
6. Provide daily safety inspection reports to OIC.
7. Lead and conduct monthly safety inspections of the Site and submit the report to the Superintending Officer.
8. Organize and participate in regular Safety Site Walks and Inspections with clients and stakeholders.
9. Submit monthly reports on safety indicators & trending analysis on monthly safety performance.
10. Report any accident/incident/near miss on site to the OIC and provide all necessary detailed information.
11. Conduct inspections for precast elements.

Requirements

1. Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry Course (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent.
2. Registered as Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM and have been practicing as WSHO for at least 3 years.
3. Be conversant with statutory codes and requirements for safety and health.
4. Min 5 years of WSH experience in deep excavation works, preferably 3 years with developer/main contractor.
5. Min 3 years of experience in managing a team of site safety personnel.
6. Certificate in DfS appreciation Course and lifting operations course.
