Job description

Overall Job Purpose:

This candidate will be part of a sales team responsible for identifying and attracting third-party events to Sentosa, including but not limited to corporate and public events. These could range from smaller-scale community events to world-class global events.

The candidate will also support the organization of these events, including logistical and operational setup alongside the event organizers.

Besides securing events on the island, the candidate will also canvass for Island Partners’ (tenants on Sentosa ranging from hotels to F&B outlets) participation to activate island-wide festivals with the aim to amplify the event and vibrancy on the island, especially for key/notable events.

This is a managerial position, and the candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 1-2 members.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and market Sentosa as a destination of choice for corporates and event organizers to hold their events on the island.
  • Responsible for acquiring new events through constant competitive scanning and hunting, to bring in events guided by Sentosa brand values to enhance the island proposition.
  • Collaborate with Sentosa’s island partners and key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and excellent customer experience.
  • Lead festivalization efforts to activate the island on a common theme and narrative, particularly for key/notable events. This will be measured by, but not limited to, participation and redemption rates at the island partners.
  • Manage and monitor requisite paperwork and processes per Sentosa’s procurement guidelines.

Job Requirements: (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Required)

  • Diploma / Degree in Sales, Events or Business Administration with at least 6 years of working experience, preferably in tourism or hospitality.
  • Passionate about key industries such as Music, Sports, and Arts (these are non-exhaustive), which often underpin the themes of world-class events.
  • Good network within both the local and global events industry.
  • Proven track record in executing events and partnerships.
  • Enthusiastic, self-driven, resourceful, and able to multi-task and work under pressure independently and as a team.
  • Strong business acumen, good analytical and negotiation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent follow-up ability.
  • Good business writing and presentation skills.
  • Attentive, meticulous, resourceful, and organized internally and externally.
  • A good corporate network and experience in event sales are good value adds.
