About the Deputy General Manager Role:
The Deputy General Manager will report directly to the General Manager of Engineering. This role is pivotal in leading and providing strategic direction for technical business development and energy solution services, with a focus on project promotion and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead greenfield development, acquisitions, and divestment projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams across local offices, regional branches, and HQ, as well as external stakeholders, including consultants, OEMs, EPCs, and authorities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and meet high-quality standards.
- Recommend and select appropriate equipment, consultants, and contractors.
- Identify client needs and promote relevant energy services, such as low-carbon solutions, plant O&M, digitalization, and plant efficiency improvements.
- Work through all phases of energy solution projects, from exploration and solution presentation to negotiation and implementation.
- Lead efforts to minimize execution and operational risks while managing resources to meet business plan objectives.
- Collaborate with the GM to prioritize projects and maximize value creation.
To thrive as a Deputy General Manager requires leadership in strategy development, collaboration with internal departments (such as Energy Transition Infrastructure and O&M) as well as external partners (EPC, OEM, technical advisors), and acting as the company’s representative in dealings with external stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 20 years of experience in engineering, project development, structuring, origination, and asset management.
- Strong track record in plant operations, EPC/OEM roles in the LNG and power industries, and experience with tendering and consultancy for LNG/power plants in Asia.
- Expertise in negotiating and executing technical documents related to the development and operation of energy assets, including RFQs and EPC contracts.
- Experience in decarbonization, including generation, storage, transportation, and supply of hydrogen, ammonia, and co-firing technology for gas turbines and boilers.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with both internal and external teams.
- Ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and effectively.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity, detail-oriented, and strong work ethic.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
