Deputy Director (Future Capabilities)

The Deputy Director (Future Capabilities) will be responsible for developing and implementing the Data Analytics, AI and other emerging technologies. This role requires a leader who can align emerging technologies with the organisation’s overall business goals. You will lead a team of Data, AI and RPA engineers, to harness the power of technology, driving innovation and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Data and AI strategy that supports the company’s goals and objectives.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of data governance, data architecture, and AI frameworks.
  
  

• Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure, ensuring that data pipelines, warehouses, and platforms meet the needs of the business.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure the proper integration of data systems with other business systems.
  
  

• Drive the development and deployment of AI and machine learning models to solve key business problems and improve decision-making.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI and data science trends, and incorporate new technologies where applicable.
• Lead research and development efforts to explore new applications of AI within the organization.
  
  

• Oversee the creation of advanced analytics and reporting to provide actionable insights for business leaders.
• Develop predictive models to anticipate business trends and inform strategy.
• Ensure that data analytics efforts are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable ROI.
  
  

• Partner with various business units to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Work closely with product, marketing, operations, and finance teams to support data-driven initiatives.
• Present insights and data-driven recommendations to executive leadership.
  
  

• Manage the data and AI department’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
• Oversee vendor relationships and third-party service agreements related to data and AI services.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related fields
• Experience in data analytics, AI, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience developing and executing data and AI strategies at scale.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
