Deputy Director / Emergency Planning and Risk Management

[What the role is]

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the Emergency Planning and Risk Management (EPRM) Branch at NParks as Deputy Director. As an individual contributor role, you will be responsible for working with organisational stakeholders to coordinate operational risks, incident reporting, crisis management, and emergency planning committees at both NParks and Whole-of-Government (WOG) levels. You will also be involved in developing systems and measures to enhance Workplace Safety and Health(WSH) for NParks. You will have the opportunity to bring fresh perspectives and approaches to enhance our emergency planning, risk management and WSH capabilities.

[What you will be working on]

• Participate in and contribute to various crisis planning committees at NParks and WOG levels

• Support senior management in crisis management, including crisis management team (CMT) activation, operations coordination, and incident reporting

• Collaborate with risk owners and leads to review and update operational risks, including SOPs, and plan and conduct exercises and drills

• Lead key projects related to emergency planning and risk management, including the exploration of crisis management applications as well as strengthening the competency and proficiency of ops staff in managing risk/ crisis.

• Support and promote WSH in NParks including serving as secretariat for NParks Workplace Safety and Health Committee.

[What we are looking for]

• At least 5 years experience in developing emergency plans, risk management and exercise planning

• Highly driven, organised and able to manage priorities and collaborate effectively with diverse and multiple stakeholders

• Strong analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

• A can-do attitude and able to adapt to new challenges in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Ability to think innovatively and propose enhancement, including technology adoption etc, to emergency planning and risk management processes

• Certifications in emergency planning or risk management will be an advantage
