Indonesia representative office is newly established, signifying Indonesia as an important market and also our commitment to our clients and partners.

You will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a business development process to identify, nurture, and maximize opportunities for reinsurance business according to company goals and objectives.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to bring to the market the new products, insights, and other developments globally to support Indonesia life insurance industry growth, to develop skills in project management, business development, communication and negotiation, while gaining experience through relationships with key decision makers, consultants, regulators, and association leaders. You will be required to stay abreast of market dynamics, regulatory changes, and client requirements to develop solutions with support from Product Innovations, Structured Solutions, Digital Solutions, Retakaful, and Group Business.

Your Role:

  • Conduct analysis of current developments in Indonesia life and health insurance markets and their implications on the financial results and performance of insurance companies.
  • Work with Chief Representative on the reinsurance solutions in planning and execution of client activities.
  • Prepare, analyze, and evaluate client and market data from external and internal sources, identifying specific gaps or opportunities, and developing reinsurance solutions as part of the team.
  • Provide active management of internal interfaces and resources during any client discussions or on the conclusion of opportunities.
  • Drive the negotiation of reinsurance treaties, including managing internal peer relationships, e.g., with Treaty Expert, Technical Accounting, Actuarial Valuation to ensure efficient execution, accurate treaty creation, regular data delivery, and revenue recognition.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior executives and decision-makers of client companies, particularly MNCs, as well as external parties such as local actuarial societies, life insurance associations, or regulators.
  • Support webinars, training sessions, and meetings with relevant parties to strengthen our position in the market.

Your Profile:

  • Qualified actuary with at least 5 years of post-fellowship experience in actuarial disciplines.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) in English and Bahasa, along with strong presentation skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
  • Team player with the ability to work with a range of experts across multiple functional and geographical areas and varying levels of seniority.
